Geoworld

Geoworld was developed in partnership between the Department of Computing and Information Sciences and the Department of Geology at Kansas State University as the final group project for my foundations of game design class. In total 19 people worked on the game directly. In order to split up the work, we divided into separate teams responsible for each era to be covered by the game. My group was responsible for covering the Precambrian era, which is labeled as “Phase 1” in the game. The idea was to eventually flesh out a story to explain the individual eras and provide information about the creatures that existed during each one.

In addition to the development of the Precambrian era, I contributed many of the foundational components to the game’s boutique JavaScript engine and was responsible for the final merge between all of the teams into a single coherent game since up until the very end each of the seven phases were essentially separate games.
